We like to avoid the use of the term "orphanage". This title conjures up mental pictures of cold, harsh child warehouses and our attiude is this; that once a child comes to us, they are no longer "orphans". They are no longer orphans because they now have a home and a family that loves them. And since they are no longer "orphans", then the facililty they live in is not an "orphanage" but rather a ........
HOME!
In ancient times, a "white stone" had great significance. If a banquet or a special event was held by a king, people who were invited were given specific seating assignments at the king's table. If the king had invited someone whom he held in high regard and wanted to convey these special feelings of love, affection and respect in an intimate and private way, he would choose a special "pet" name for that person, then have it written or engraved upon a "white stone". Then the king would have the white stone placed on the table at the seating placement of the favored individual. The white stone would be positioned so that the "new name" was on the underside of the stone, thus keeping the name secret from the other guests. Only the king and the preferred person would know this new name. Then in the future, whenever the king communicated with this privileged person, he would use this new name, conveying his favor and assuring the person of a special relationship between the two.
This is what Jesus says He will do for us. He will give to each person whom He calls an overcomer in this life, a "white stone" with a new name - a personalized pet name - that only He and the overcomer know. When He talks with us, He will call us by that new name, conveying to us His love, affection and favor. This special communication between He and us is a mark of the special relationship we have with the King thoughout Eternity.
White Stone Ministries is all about creating overcomers who will enjoy this special relationship with the King of Kings. White Stone desires to reach out to the lost and forgotten children and young people and to give them a hope and a future by introducing them to our Lord. White Stone endeavors to train and disciple them, empowering them to reach ever higher, always overcoming for the glory or God.

At the heart of White Stone's Vision is a Plan that will bring together, resources from the U.S. with indigenous ministries in Mexico and other Latin American countries who are struggling to minister to orphans and abandoned children in their own areas. The U.S. resources include finances, child care expertise and technical training.
Stage One: The initial stage is to establish a “Model” Home in the target country. Currently the focus is upon Mexico. A Model Home will be established in a country setting near a major population center and provide a complete continuum of care for abandoned, abused and neglected children. The Home will also provide a training center for indigenous ministers and their staff who have a calling or desire to establish their own Children's Home ministry. Quality training for Christian childcare workers is almost nonexistent in most third world countries, so by establishing a “hands-on” training environment, it not only cares for children but it will also help equip and train many others, multiplying our efforts, which will result in saving the spiritual and physical lives of many, many children.
White Stone will build housing where many of these children may stay until the age of eighteen. They will be housed in a home-like setting, and will be clothed, fed, medically maintained, spiritually discipled and educated through the high school level.
Emergency Shelters, providing temporary housing and medial treatment facilities, will be located in the metro areas. These will function as outreach facilities to the street children as the initial point of contact. Children will receive medical and dental care and will be screened for infectious diseases and/or life-threatening challenges. Those with serious problems will remain in the shelters to receive on-going medical attention, while those who are deemed physically sound will be moved to the permanent housing located in a rural setting just outside the city.
Facilities will be a combination of semi-centralized campuses [shelters], a main campus and satellite campuses [where needed]. The main campuses, constructed in rural settings, will hold up to 1,000 children each, while the satellite campuses will vary in the number of children each can handle. In addition, educational facilities at each campus will be built for the furtherance of the children’s education. Also the main campuses will offer training and support programs for indigenous organizations and individuals desiring to open their own facilities.
Middle and upper level staff will undergo specialized training that focuses on the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the children.
The rural settings of the main campuses will facilitate the operation of several agricultural projects that will serve a three-fold purpose.
[1] They will provide an on-going fresh food supply for the children.
[2] They will provide training for the children
[3] Excess products can be sold to produce income for the home. Examples of these agricultural projects include fish and
poultry farming, specialized gardens and greenhouses, and orchards.
The Second Stage, which will commence after the Model Home in Stage One is up and running, is to develop a network of churches in the US who will partner with indigenous churches to work together in rescuing children in the community served by the indigenous ministry. White Stone will serve as a liaison between the US and the indigenous churches. U.S. churches, ministries, businesses and individuals who wish to participate in this program will be asked to provide a monthly support to the Home they are partnering with. The amount they provide will be determined by their own board. If necessary, several churches will be needed to provide the necessary financial support for one Home, depending upon the size of the Home and their operating budget, as well as the amount of financial support each individual church commits to.

This program will allow the Body of Christ to come together to combine their resources to help rescue orphans. It will involve the indigenous churches as it is their responsibility to care for the children in their own community. Most of these indigenous ministries cannot financially care for a Home without help, so by involving the US churches and their financial support, many more orphans can be rescued. White Stone will identify and screen the indigenous ministries desiring to open a Home, and then White Stone will seek out a US church or churches to help support this new Home. White Stone will remain in continual oversight and will demand that the Home maintain a transparent attitude in order to continually receive this support.
White Stone will provide an entire package of support for the indigenous
church. Included in this package is:
> creation & implementation of the child care program
> initial and ongoing training of staff at all levels, i.e. management, house parents, & direct care workers
> continual fiscal support & training, i.e. Bookkeeping, budgets, fundraising, etc.
> a handbook of Minimum Standards, which will help the indigenous ministries strive for excellence in their
operations. White Stone’s inspection Team will issue a “report card” to the pastor in charge of the home to help him
understand where they are missing the mark set by the Minimum Standards and also where they are succeeding.
> office and technical support
White Stone will send a small Inspection Team to each Home every month or as needed, to insure that the Home is running smoothly and to maintain constant oversight. The indigenous ministry must be transparent in all it’s dealings, especially in the area of finances. If a ministry decides to close it’s books to the scrutiny of White Stone’s team, the relationship will end. This is necessary due to the fact that there is a huge problem of theft within 3rd World Countries ministries dealing with children. Integrity WILL be maintained!
White Stone will offer the participating churches with a monthly financial report, and a report complied by the WS team who visits the Home. The US Church will receive pictures of the children in care and the staff in their partner’s Home, so that the Church can have more of a personal connection to the children they are helping to care for and to also pray for these children and staff. This will also provide the church with a place for missions teams and youth teams to go to and to minister in.

Conclusion:
By bringing together US Churches and their resources with the indigenous churches in 3rd World Countries, many many children can be rescued for the Kingdom of God. White Stone will serve as a liaison, a conduit of resources and an agent of accountability to insure that integrity is maintained by the Homes, and that the US churches can know that their resources are indeed going to the ministry they support.
