OK…I know that this was a bit dramatic but it is true.  I wanted to make sure that I have your attention and that you understand that what I have to say is extremely important. The absolute truth is, is that we cannot continue to rescue more children unless our financial resources increase.

We have turned away children both from DIF (Child Protective Services) and private parties because we have no place for them. Our home is full and we cannot house any more children. If we do, we will sacrifice one of the key elements vital to ministering to our children, which is maintaining a family environment. We must have more partners come alongside us to help us if we are going to touch the lives of anymore children. Since DIF honored us by stating that we are the “Best Children’s Home” in the State of Coahuila in September of 2010, they have brought many children to us and are now begging us to increase our facilities as they want to bring us more children. They have seen the way that some of the children (children that they didn’t think had a chance to recover from the effects of their abuse or abandonment) have progressed by leaps and bounds and they know the smiles and the happiness they see can not be faked or scripted, so they want us to do more…but we can’t…at least not yet.

Imagine that…the Mexican government wants to bring children to us so that they can get saved, but we sit here with a closed door. That is an unacceptable paradox.

Less than 5% of the people on our newsletter mailing list actually support us on a monthly basis. We are asking for those who are not already giving to other ministries that are reaching out to orphans, to pray and see if God is not telling you to get involved with us. The Bible speaks to us about His desire for ALL of His children to take care of orphans and widows, so walking in obedience to scripture requires that we maintain a lifestyle…not just sending a teddy bear or a Barbie Doll at Christmas time…but a LIFESTLYE of continuous support for orphans.

We want…and can…rescue more children, but it will take more partners to get in the game with us. This is a team effort. When we all do our part, children are rescued and God even rewards us for our obedience. I could list a number of testimonies about people who have started to support our work with these children and how after doing so, they saw the hand of God working in their own finances. So how can we lose? God is serious about this. So should we be. Please join us in rescuing more children for the Kingdom of God…

…they are waiting on you!

We are closing our doors.

With deep regret we have been
forced to make the sad decision
that Anna and I
simply can not continue.

We know that we have obeyed God in developing a home for orphaned and abandoned children, but it is impossible
for us to go any further

We have come to the end.

Please read on for our explanation…

We want to thank the groups that came and blessed our kids and staff with so many gifts this year. The children received more than they imagined, receiving not only some amazing toys but also some very needed clothing and comforters. So we say “thank you” for helping to make it a very joyous Christmas for all of us this year
Christmas 2011
Pastor Tom & Lana Sutherland & gang from Grace Community Church of Del Rio came bearing gifts from their church
Mike & Kay Figart of “Hand of the Niño” brought a full Christmas Party to us feeding our kids, and all our staff and their families.
Mike Figart also brought backpacks full of clothes and gifts sent from a motorcycle club of Houston Police Officers call the “Thin Blue Line”.
Robert & Michelle Wilson & some of their family brought some great gifts and also gave each child a well needed comforter.
A group from
Gateway Community Church
of Austin dropped in
bringing a
mountain of clothing
.

Until just recently, very few Mexico groups have taken an interest in our home but this Christmas five separate groups came to bless our children with gifts and traditional Christmas foods. So we thank God that more Mexican citizens are becoming involved with our kids.
This group is from Blue Line Manufacturing here in Acuna. This is the only Mexican group that came last year. The reason the photo is dark is that they came and had the party at 6:30 AM before they went to work …they were serious about blessing the kids.
This group was from the local Electric Company, CFE.
These 3 groups were just groups of families
that wanted to come and bless the kids.
We were blessed to have one of our closest friends and long-time supporters, Mike Kyle, take time out of his busy schedule to come across the border and baby-sit Josue for a bit…or maybe Josue was babysitting Mike. Anyway we were honored that he made the trip. Mike is a real blessing to Anna & I personally as well as to this ministry.

This is our Manto Coahuila Family…

Behind each one of these beautiful, smiling little faces, is a story that would break your heart. Not just one or two of the children had very sad stories, but every single one. Stories of horrible sex and physical abuse. Stories of abandonment, starvation, deprivation and emotional abuse, and stories of the absence of a mother and a father. However, God has interrupted the stories of these particular children with a new story of His own. A story filled with the love of a family, a hope for a future and a life that has meaning and purpose. Each one of these children, with the obvious exception of Josué, our baby, have received Jesus as their savior and as we watch the changes taking place in their attitudes and behaviors, we are convinced of the genuiness of their decisions. We thank God for the privilege of being able to reach these children, to give them a home, introduce them to Jesus and to know that they will follow us into to heaven one day. More than that, God may even be preparing some of these children for fulltime ministry as pastors or evangelists that will help turn Mexico to God, so we take our responsibility as their foster parents very seriously.

We want our financial partners to know that the salvations represented by these faces are also “credited” to your heavenly account because this is truly a team effort. The folks that have been able to come visit us during the last three years often say they don’t know how Anna and I are able to do what we do, but we are very quick to say that without the obvious help of the Holy Spirit AND the help of our partners, we simply couldn’t do what we are doing…we truly do not do this alone.

We also need prayer partners. We want to encourage you to pick out one of these children that seems to lift off the page toward you as you look at their faces and begin praying for that child on a daily basis. Even though these children have received the Lord, there is still much healing and restoration that needs to take place in these lives, so they can use all the prayer that can be offered up for them. If you would like a full size copy of a picture of one of the kids, let me know and I will email it to you.

Thank you for helping to change these young lives!
Anna & I want to express our profound thankfulness to the partners of our ministry. Even though it is Anna & I that the Holy Spirit has sent here physically, we could not have come if we were not sent and supported by our partners. So I believe that according to the Bible, every success we experience is a success that our partners experience. So I wanted to share some of the successes of 2011 with you.

ØWe started the year with 6 children and ended the year with 21
ØBy year’s end all living in the home have received Jesus
ØThe house now has an expanded Dining Room
ØWe have a new Bathroom addition to the Girl’s Bedroom
ØOur favor with DIF has increased substantially

In the coming year, we are praying for the ability to expand our living facilities as I mentioned at the beginning. In addition, we plan on opening our own Homeschool here on the property. We have children in 5 different schools right now and they all have different schedules so the daily routine in the home is extremely hectic. Furthermore the quality of the education most are receiving at this time is appallingly bad, so to help prepare these children for the future we have to do more for their education. So our goal is to be ready to begin our own classes here on our own property by September of this year.
I know that Christmas takes a financial toll on folks because we feel it in a very tangible way as we have only received about half of the income that we normally receive. So please don’t forget about us if you have made a commitment to support us monthly because God will certainly honor your sacrifice. Those of you who have supported us this past year really have no idea how you have blessed us and the children, because you are truly helping to change the eternal destiny of not just these children, but the lives that they will in turn reach for the sake of the Gospel and the glory of the Lord.

Thank you for your love, your prayers and you financial support. We thank God for you and pray that God’s richest blessings are yours.

Blessings,
Dr. Ron & Anna Sherman
